Costa Rica is a tourist location unlike any other. Scattered among the big cities such as San José, there are smaller cities that have so much to offer. Curridabat is one of these gems. It is a very modern city with plenty of newly constructed houses and buildings, but at its heart, it is still a very historical and cultural find. Those who are looking for a vacation getaway that is not in a bustling cityscape will find Curridabat an ideal location.
Conveniently Located
Curridabat is the eastern suburb of San José and is just a stone's throw from the downtown area of the capital city. It is located along the Inter-American Highway. Travelers will pass through Cartago just before reaching Curridabat. It is an easy commute, but those without personal vehicles can also take the bus, which runs major routes out of the larger cities in Costa Rica to the smaller suburb areas.

Credit Cards/Automated Tellers: The most widely accepted credit cards are VISA, and Mastercard. A network of automated tellers is in place throughout the country serving almost all types of international credit and debit cards. CIRRUS and PLUS networks are supported.
Health and Water Quality: The tap water in the San José metro area is excellent quality and safe to drink. In some remote areas of the country, it is recommended to purchase bottled water. The health care system in Costa Rica is very good and most cities and towns have clinics and hospitals equipped to treat anyone in case of an emergency.
Climate: Costa Rica has two seasons: green and dry. The green season starts about the end of April and lasts until about the first week in December. The rest of December through April is mostly dry, although the occasional shower can occur almost any day. The temperature in the Central Valley (higher elevation) averages between 70º to 80º most of the year but evenings can be cool in the wet season (sweater is advisable). In the lower Atlantic and Pacific regions the temperature is similar but the humidity much higher.
Taxes and tips: By law, restaurants add to the bill a 10% service charge (built in tip) and a 13% tax on food and drink. Most local residents do not add any tip above the mandatory 10%. However, due to the prevalent custom of “tipping” that exists in most cultures, it is sometimes expected in the case of a foreign traveler in finer dining establishments (not in the little “sodas” or restaurants you will find in rural areas). In a finer restaurant or hotel setting, it would not be uncommon to leave an additional 10% if you think the service was above average. Hotel bills include a 13% service tax and a 3.3% state tax.
Telephones: Cellular telephony is present throughout the country, with 4G technology. There are three companies offering the service: Kölbi, Claro and Tigo. Check with your phone company before traveling if they have agreements for ROAMING in Costa Rica with any of these phone companies, and the price per minute and per megabyte.
Another connectivity option for smartphones are the WiFi networks available in hotels, restaurants, offices and some public parks. At OG Center we have WiFi available for our patients.
Clothing: Costa Rica is a land of over 1,000 micro-climates. You can experience everything from dry desert conditions in the far north (shorts and a short-sleeve shirt), extremely heavy rain in the cloud forests or tropics (rain gear, all-weather hiking boots) and even chilly weather (sweater or light jacket) at the higher elevations (such as at the top of the volcanos Irazú or Poás). Take into account your itinerary and be sure to pack according to the specific needs of your route.
Cosmetics/Skin-care: Ultraviolet rays from the sun are much more intense as you move closer to the Equator. Sunscreen is essential! 15 minutes in the Costa Rican sun is like 45 minutes in Florida. You will burn fast. If you have a favorite skincare product – be sure to bring it. Many brands are available here also. Industrial strength insect repellent is a must if you plan to visit rural areas outside the Central Valley! To enjoy the beauty of the tropics you must also endure a few bugs (mostly mosquitos). “OFF” and other major brands of repellent are available from local grocery stores and pharmacies. If you plan on hitting the jungle trail right off the plane – bring some with you as you may not be able to find any repellents or sun-block products in more remote locations.
Photos/Bird watching: Obviously, if you are visiting one of the most beautiful countries in the world, you will want to bring your camera and lots of film. Camera experts will want telephoto and wide-angle lenses to capture the intimate details of the flora and fauna. Film developing is more expensive in Costa Rica and only a few places offer the CD option for digital. Small binoculars come in handy when you hear the howler monkeys or if you are in any forest location (even along the coast). It is not uncommon to see white-faced monkeys, toucans, parrots, howlers and iguanas in many of the locations you will be visiting.
WARRANTY POLICY
Implant Hardware Components: a manufacturers warrantee typically covers components for a period of 10 years or longer. OG Center use the highest quality implants from the leading manufacturers, which carry a lifetime warranty.

Implant Bridge: There is a statutory defects warranty of 12 months for any product constructed by the laboratory. There is an additional warranty period that the laboratory offers depending on the kind of teeth. For Titanium-Reinforced Acrylic Final Bridge this is typically 3 years, and for Zirconia teeth it is typically 10+ years because these are more durable over time. This means that the laboratory will not charge the clinic for any repairs within this period. However, in some cases more than one repair may be an indication that the improvement to the forces of your bite is beyond the physical tolerance of the material used, and an upgrade to a stronger material may be required at an additional cost. At OG Center the upgrade cost is only the difference in the price between the original teeth and the new stronger teeth, so it is much cheaper overall and only used for those patients with heavy bites who actually need it.

Conditions and Limitations*
If an implant fails to integrate we will replace it at no cost, one time only. If an implant requires a repair procedure, it will be billed according to the warranty fee schedule, one time only. An annual implant examination including x-rays or regular dental cleanings in our office (when recommended) is an absolute requirement for this warranty to apply. This warranty does not apply to smokers or to persons who have, or who develop, an uncontrolled systemic health problem, such as, but not limited to, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, severe osteoporosis, or any condition requiring long term steroid use. If smoking or a medical condition is suspected as the cause of implant failure or other complication that requires treatment, a medical examination and appropriate blood tests will be required for this warranty to apply. OG does not refund any amount of money paid. We will satisfy your procedure through warranty if needed.
OG Center warranty does not cover any flight or hotels fees for a return trip for any reason unless authorized by OG Center.

PAYMENT POLICY:
In all cases, OG Center patients agree to the following payment policies:
-
Payment in full of the estimated patient portion of the fees is due prior to treatment.
-
For comprehensive treatment plans requiring multiple office visits, OG Center does not require any pre-payment. The amount of treatment for the visit is due prior to care. For example, Stage 1 treatment is paid prior to receiving Stage 1 care. Stage 2 treatment is paid prior to receiving Stage 2 care.
-
Patients are responsible for the total amount of the agreed upon treatment plan and cost. Insurance benefits, if applicable, are refunded directly to the patient by the patient’s insurance company.
-
Patients may, at their discretion, elect to pay in full, in advance for comprehensive treatment plans. Payments are non-refundable.
REFUND POLICY:
In the event the clinic revises or changes your treatment plan resulting in a reduced treatment amount, OG Dental will refund any pre-paid funds upon completion of the revised treatment plan. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment, except cash payments will be refunded by cash or wire transfer. Written notice for refund is required to be submitted in written form at least 24 hours prior to expected payment.
No Refunds: Payments shall not be refundable due to the termination of care by the patient. The patient will receive a credit for all funds paid, minus fees for any work started or completed. This credit may be used for services at OG Center.
All pre-payments/deposits are non-refundable. Patients that choose to discontinue treatment or to postpone care, will receive a credit in the amount of the payment for a total of 12 months from the date of payment. After 12 months, this credit is forfeited. Patients may assign this credit to friends and family members to use if they are unable to use this credit
personally.
